Environmental crimes such as illegal logging and mining are underpinned by illicit financial activities, including corruption, money laundering, and fraud. Addressing these financial aspects of environmental crime offers an effective approach to disrupting the networks involved in the plundering of nature, enabling broader investigations and ensuring meaningful legal proceedings. To address this challenge, the Foundation for Conservation and Sustainable Development of Peru (FCDS Peru) recently released the toolkit - 'Financial Trail Behind Environmental Crimes'.
